Darci Lynne, the incredible ventriloquist and winner of America’s Got Talent Season 12, brought her unique artistry to Nashville, Tennessee, on October 8, where she performed at “The Pitch Meeting.” Among her performances that evening was her original song, “After Midnight,” delivered in an extraordinary way—without moving her lips—a remarkable show of her unmatched talent.
The performance opened with a soulful, bluesy keyboard introduction. Darci, with a touch of humor, remarked, “I hope I’m not still rusty…” before diving into the song. As she sang the first lines, her voice was clear and strong while her lips stayed completely still.
This was so fun!!!
The lyrics told a fun story: “She and the girls burnin’ the midnight oil / out on the town, Saturday night soil / You showed up in boots with bad intentions / lookin’ like she never learned her lesson / They locked eyes when the clock struck twelve / by now she should know herself.”
When the chorus kicked in, the energy in the room really picked up. Darci sang with excitement, “Mama, she always told me / nothing good happens after midnight,” The crowd went wild and cheered for her!
Later that night, Darci sang “After Midnight” again, this time moving her mouth. She connected with the audience by sharing a bit of her story: “I love music, and I wanna share that part of myself. Seven years ago, I went on America’s Got Talent Season 12, and won.” It was great to hear how far she has come since winning at such a young age.
