Courtney Hadwin is turning up the volume—and the attitude—with her fiery new single “D.N.A.,” giving fans a first taste of her long-awaited debut album Little Miss Jagged, set to drop on September 12.
In the lyric video for “D.N.A.,” Hadwin unleashes the kind of energy that jumps straight off the screen. Packed with her signature dance moves, wild charisma, and vocals that don’t hold back, the 19-year-old singer proves she’s no longer just the viral teen who stunned America’s Got Talent audiences at age 13. She’s now a full-force artist—bold, genre-defying, and completely in her element.

“D.N.A.” feels like a distant, funkier cousin to “Uptown Funk,” with its swaggering groove, playful lyrics, and Hadwin’s soulful screams and soaring vocals. Co-written with GRAMMY®-winning producer Kevin Bowe (Etta James, Joe Cocker), the song captures the dizzying rush of a teenage crush—loud, messy, and full of fun.
As Hadwin puts it, “It has no real song structure… but it really captures the obsessive nature of a crush, filled with humour, and still carrying that funk and soul throughout.”
“D.N.A.” also marks a big step forward in Hadwin’s evolution. After choosing to step back and focus on refining her sound post-AGT, she’s returned with a clear artistic vision. Little Miss Jagged is set to be a genre-blending ride, already featuring the soul-stained heartbreak of “You Only Love Me When I Lie” and the pop-punk punch of “Spellbound.”
The album will be available digitally, as well as in limited edition signed black vinyl and digipak CD formats—now up for pre-order. And for fans eager to see her live, Hadwin is bringing her full band to the Fiddler’s Elbow in London on May 30. Tickets are already in short supply.
With Little Miss Jagged, Courtney Hadwin is rewriting her story. From viral phenom to fearless artist, she’s delivering a debut that’s impossible to ignore—and if “D.N.A.” is any sign, it’s going to be a thrilling ride.
