Sydnie Christmas breaks hearts and wins applause with a powerful cover of ‘She Used to Be Mine’ on the big stage at ExCeL London

Sydnie Christmas gave fans a night to remember at ExCeL London with a show-stopping live performance of “She Used to Be Mine”, the angsty ballad from the Broadway hit Waitress—and her powerful rendition had fans reaching for tissues and showering praise online.

The rising star, who’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about vocalists in the UK, took the stage during Musical Con 2024 and delivered a pitch-perfect, emotionally charged version of the beloved song. Turning the haunting ballad into her own moment of triumph, Sydnie left the audience in awe—and many in tears.

Fans wasted no time sharing their reactions online. “Wow, such emotion and storytelling when she sings. A true generational talent and sincere soul,” one admirer wrote.

Another gushed, “How can Sydnie sound so brilliant? Never have I heard such a perfect singer. She gives me shivers up and down my spine every time I hear her sing.”

Her performance sparked even more excitement as fans recalled her sold-out show in New York’s Sony Hall earlier this year. “Phenomenal, once-in-a-lifetime talent! Conveys such emotions that I constantly find myself wiping away tears. Thank you, Sydnie, for sharing your beautiful voice. Can’t wait to see you in London!!” one comment read.

Even those who watched the performance after the fact were moved: “I had to watch this with the sound off, and I still got the sniffles. When I can cope, I’ll go full screen and full volume. Don’t know how I’m going to manage next month when she sings this live on tour!! ”
