Courtney Hadwin had her way with the Jonas Brothers‘ No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Sucker” in a live cover released Thursday (Aug. 1). The 15-year-old America’s Got Talent season 13 favorite known for her signature growly rock and soul vibe gave the JoBros’ pop smash a unique spin, performing the track in a stripped-down, acoustic setting, backed by a two-man guitar and electric organ band.
Watch her performance below.
Putting some Janis Joplin grit into the original, Hadwin — wearing a shiny, slim-fit flower-print suit — works the small room like it’s a stadium stage, throwing in some ad-lib howls while showing off her animated, Mick Jagger-inspired dance moves.
This is the second in a series of cover videos from the teen from Northern England, following on the heels of her take on Harry Styles‘ “Sign of the Times” from July. Hadwin, who has racked up more than 270 million YouTube views to date for her AGT audition, is being managed by Larry Rudolph (Britney Spears) and is currently in the studio working on her debut album.
