When the\u00a0America\u2019s Got Talent\u00a0<\/em>Season 12 winner\u00a0performed \u201cThe Star-Spangled Banner\u201d at an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game, she sang with a perfectly balanced tone, not missing a single note.<\/p>\n

Darci Lynne\u2019s roots in Oklahoma<\/h2>\n

The moment must\u2019ve been very special and full-circle for Lynne, as she grew up in Oklahoma City.\u00a0In 2019, when Lynne was venturing on her\u00a0Darci Lynne and Friends: Fresh Out of the Box Tour,\u00a0<\/em>she spoke to\u00a0The Oklahoman<\/em>\u00a0about how far she\u2019s come\u00a0since her\u00a0AGT<\/em>\u00a0days.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing on\u00a0AGT<\/em>, I just really wanted to inspire others to try ventriloquism because it\u2019s such an old art. I wanted other people to try it, and I ended up meeting that goal \u2013 because these tours and these kids are living proof of that,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cI see lots of kids bringing their puppets to the shows. And some of them will come back to meet and greet and I get to meet them, I get to meet their puppets, and they say that I inspired them to do it. So, it\u2019s really awesome to see that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in 2018, Lynne revealed to\u00a0Parade\u00a0<\/em>that she was residing in Oklahoma City at the time. \u201cI still live in Oklahoma City, so I go to public school.\u00a0My family\u2019s\u00a0keeping me super grounded because getting more and more into this business, I\u2019m still staying true to my roots. It\u2019s going pretty good right now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
