America\u2019s Got Talent<\/em>\u00a0Season 12 winner\u00a0Darci Lynne\u00a0sounds flawless covering a song by another young blonde singer:\u00a0Taylor Swift. The ventriloquist and musician sang a snippet of Swift\u2019s early hit \u201cLove Story\u201d a cappella, showing off her vibrato and adding a couple riffs to the melody. \u201cTaylor Swift\u00a0has my heart\u00a0\"\u2764\ufe0f\"\u201d Lynne\u00a0wrote when she posted the clip to Facebook in August 2020.<\/p>\n

About \u201cLove Story\u201d by Taylor Swift<\/h2>\n

One of the biggest hits of Swift\u2019s career, the song is the story of a\u00a0Romeo and Juliet<\/em>-style couple kept apart by circumstance, though in Swift\u2019s version, there\u2019s a happy ending. It was released as the first single from Swift\u2019s 2008 album\u00a0Fearless<\/em>\u00a0and was at one point one of\u00a0the most-downloaded digital singles of all time. Swift\u2019s re-recorded version, released in 2021, hit\u00a0number one on the Hot Country charts.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Swift has spoken about her inspiration for the song and its fairytale imagery, which is also present in the music video. \u201cYou take me getting mad at my parents because they didn\u2019t want me to date this dude when I was, like, 17. I threw a fit and ran to my room and wrote a song on my bedroom floor called \u2018Love Story\u2019\u2026songs happen in really weird, strange, quirky ways,\u201d she\u00a0revealed to VH1.<\/p>\n

Addressing her reputation as a romantic, Swift\u00a0said on the BBC,\u00a0\u201cWe have this perception of Prince Charming. I have songs that are about believing in that sort of thing, and songs that are about not believing in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
