{"id":2109,"date":"2025-03-18T19:02:18","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T19:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/story15.com\/?p=2109"},"modified":"2025-03-18T19:02:18","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T19:02:18","slug":"courtney-hadwin-goes-from-shy-to-superstar-channeling-mick-jaggers-energy-in-an-electrifying-performance-of-tina-turners-song","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/story15.com\/?p=2109","title":{"rendered":"Courtney Hadwin goes from shy to superstar, channeling Mick Jagger\u2019s energy in an electrifying performance of Tina Turner\u2019s song"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Voice Kids has delivered its first major surprise of the series as seemingly shy Hartlepool 12-year-old Courtney blew the coaches away with a performance of Ike and Tina Turner\u2019s Nutbush City Limits.<\/p>\n<p>The young singer appeared rather nervous as she headed to The Voice Kids UK stage but, just as her father had suggested, she came alive the moment the opening bars of her audition track were played by the band.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch her performance below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"qw0CRUru\"><\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Courtney sings 'Nutbush City Limits' by Ike &amp; Tina Turner | The Voice Stage #28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aUgke-UydXo?feature=oembed\" width=\"790\" height=\"444\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-origwidth=\"790\" data-origheight=\"444\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Courtney launched into a rousing performance of the 1973 Turner track, bouncing around the stage with seemingly boundless energy, much to the delight of Voice Kids coaches Danny Jones, Pixie Lott and will.i.am.<\/p>\n<p>After her performance of \u201cNutbush City Limits\u201d in the blinds, Courtney joined Jones\u2019 team where she was soon pitted against fellow artists Eboni Green and Hollie Firmin in the battle rounds. The three kids sang \u201cDancing in the Street\u201d together and Courtney was singled out and allowed to advance to the next round.<\/p>\n<p>In the semi-finals Courtney sang \u201cI Got You (I Feel Good)\u201d and she was chosen as one of the six artists to advance to the season finale. Her last performance on the show was \u201cAnd I Am Telling You I\u2019m Not Going,\u201d but it wasn\u2019t good enough to surpass Jess Folley of Team Pixie Lott, whose \u201cLove on Top\u201d made
