After blowing the\u00a0AGT\u00a0<\/em>Judges away with\u00a0his \u201cspectacular\u201d cover\u00a0of Journey\u2019s \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believing\u201d in Season 19 auditions, Goodall scored a coveted\u00a0Golden Buzzer\u00a0from\u00a0Heidi Klum, cementing the janitor as a frontrunner in the competition.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Audiences quickly fell in love with Goodall\u2019s humble attitude and unexpected power behind his voice, fearlessly tackling beloved classic rock hits during his\u00a0AGT<\/em>\u00a0run. It was no surprise when, after teaming up with\u00a0several members of Journey\u00a0for a mind-blowing Finals performance, Goodall earned America\u2019s vote and was named the Season 19 champion.<\/p>\n

NBC Insider<\/em>\u00a0spoke with Richard Goodall for an exclusive interview, where he dished details about what life\u2019s been like since winning\u00a0AGT<\/em>. Those obsessed with the charming janitor will be excited to learn he\u2019s still happily working at West Vigo High School.<\/p>\n

Goodall\u2019s life-changing win has made some wonder if he\u2019ll leave his day job to dive into an entertainment career. During\u00a0NBC Insider<\/em>\u2018s chat with Goodall, it was clear that he\u2019s still on cloud nine following his\u00a0AGT<\/em>\u00a0win and happily juggling his janitor gig with his\u00a0budding music career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still at the school, but things are going on behind the scenes, you know, some concerts are popping up,\u201d Goodall told us. \u201cI\u2019m actually leaving tomorrow for Riverside, California, to do a festival lights thing\u2026 A lot of amazing things are just popping up, and so I\u2019ll continue to work at the school until, you know, I can\u2019t anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following his emotional Season 19 win on\u00a0AGT<\/em>, the West Vigo student body, staff, and alums\u00a0gave Goodall a welcome party\u00a0fit for a king by hosting a pep rally in his honor. Better yet, Terre Haute city officials awarded Goodall a key to the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as I go and [my wife] go, this is the first time our life has been unscripted,\u201d Goodall told Indiana-based\u00a0WTHR\u00a0amid the festivities. \u201cAGT<\/em>\u00a0has not only changed our life, but money aside, the opportunities are kind of endless right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

When asked about what life working at the school has been like since becoming a national sensation, Goodall remained endearingly humble. \u201cThey were [freaking out] at first, but they see me every day, so it\u2019s kind of like, they still remember me from the show, but they see me every day,\u201d Goodall explained. \u201cSo the fame is starting to wear off, I guess. I don\u2019t necessarily call it fame, but they, you know, most people do, definitely here in Terre Haute, Indiana.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Goodall is happy at West Vigo High, he couldn\u2019t be happier about his performance calendar. Goodall tore the house down after singing the national anthem at a November Indiana Pacers game and visited Illinois State University to do the same. As for what\u2019s on the horizon, he tells\u00a0NBC Insider<\/em>\u00a0that he\u2019s opening for Judge\u00a0Howie Mandel\u00a0in an upcoming show and will perform his first full concert in\u00a0Pittsburg\u2019s Palace Theatre in January 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of things are happening, moving behind the scenes\u2026\u201d Goodall told us.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cA lot of exciting stuff going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
